Liliane Colburn was born in Paris, France on October 17, 1927 and spent her teenage years during WW II in Nazi occupied France. In 1946 she arrived in the U.S. as a war bride and resided in Detroit, MI. for the next twenty five years. She had two daughters, Jacqueline and Michele with her first husband, divorced and remarried and in 1960 gave birth to her son Mark.She became a widow when she was forty, and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. with Mark in 1972. At the age of sixty, when Mark moved to California to pursue his dreams, Liliane moved to Petoskey, MI to be near her daughter Michele and her growing family. This is where she now resides.
In 1997, while ready to relax and enjoy her “Golden Years” in beautiful Petoskey, God gave her the challenge of her life. Her Navy SEAL son Mark had a parachute accident that changed her world, and his, forever. With love of family to pull her through the many heart wrenching, drama laden moments during her son’s recovery, at age seventy seven, she now enjoys the glorious opportunity to tell this story. This is her first book.
